We are concerned with justice, peace and green issues in the world, nationally, and more locally. We meet about once a month.
Environment and climate
The group has helped the church get an eco-church bronze award and is ensuring our church electricity and gas is used as efficiently and is as green as possible. We have also pushed for the Church of England to disinvest from fossil fuels. Other work has involved campaigning and attending events related to climate change.
The group has helped with the annual Christian Aid door to door collections and supports the churches Traidcraft work.
Other campaigns include working for justice in Palestine and helping with the Amos Trust work and Disinvestment of local government pensions from the Arms Trade.
The group also helps to carry out after-church conversations on justice and peace issues and recommends to the church which charities to give to under its mission giving.
